On Brass

A short note on why I keep coming back to this material, piece after piece.

Every material has a temperament. Brass is patient. It lets you change your mind halfway through a cut, forgives a shaky first pass with a file, and rewards a slow finish with a colour no paint can match.

I keep telling myself the next piece will be in steel, or oak, or anything else. It rarely is.
